COMMUNITY EFFORT

Hudson Valley Preservation | Kent, CT | 860.592.0500

Saving, relocating, and rehabilitating these two c.1840 gems has depended on an on-going partnership between Preserve New Fairfield, Inc. and HVP.

After a new site was chosen for the Parsonage and the Hubbell House, work included roofing replacement, structural repairs to the Parsonage porch roof, and architectural woodwork repairs along roof lines to remedy extensive rot and pest damage. The Parsonage also required structural repairs within the attic to eliminate significant bowing of the east elevation roof, resulting from insufficient structural support of the roofing weight load. Located in downtown New Fairfield, these two buildings are well on their way to fulfilling Preserve New Fairfield’s vision as a center for community activities and interpretive tours.
